This is another price gouging method by Telus. They keep raising their rates every year and on top of that now they want to charge 1.5% processing fee plus tax on that. As it is the common man is hit with enough inflationary prices on food, gas, etc. and this is another cash grab by Telus. As it is there is no level of protection offered by debit cards for fraudulent transactions. Some providers like Rogers actually rewards customers by signing up for Auto-payment every month by a credit card. Instead of rewarding customers Telus is penalizing their customers. If Telus does this every vendor out there will follow suit and eventually no one will accept credit cards. The protection offered by credit card far outweighs the risk of using a debit card where the onus is on the consumer to get his money back.
