Dear CRTC,

I am writing this letter in full support of CJAM changing its signal from 91.5 FM to 99.1 FM. It is very important that this station is awarded protected status. I have become very intimate with CJAM over the past decade, on many levels, and consider CJAM to be a vital hub for the local arts, music and cultural communities.

First and foremost I am an avid listener of the station. CJAM offers the widest array of locally oriented content of any station in the area. This applies across the board from music to talk to live broadcast university sports. No other local station covers the diverse Windsor community with such enthusiasm and depth.

CJAM is a true community orientated station driven by the efforts of those within the community. The station's 'great spirit' comes from the passion and dedication of its volunteer base. I have been a multi-year volunteer for CJAM in the past. During that period of time I came to appreciate and respect the level of commitment offered by its volunteers. It is what these volunteers bring to the table that makes CJAM so unique and vitally important to the community.

As a local recording artist I have also come to understand the impact of CJAM from another perspective as well. CJAM plays dramatically more local music content than all the other local stations combined. They play local music morning, noon and night. The support CJAM has given me and my debut recording has proved immensely helpful in getting my music heard and recognized locally. This happens across the board for so many local musical artists regardless of genre. CJAM is a vital link to a healthy and vibrant local music community.

CJAM is a very well run organization, from the top down. Never has the station been in better shape than it is nowadays. The station has matured with its years of existence and has continued to grow and develop into being the most important and relevant local station.

I urge you to approve CJAM's move from 91.5 FM to 99.1 FM and give the station the protected status that it deserves.
