I am writing to voice my concern about CJAM 91.5 in Windsor and their application to occupy the frequency at 99.1 I urge you to grant this application to retain Cjam as a vital resource in my community. There is an abundance of important programming on this station including labour, gay/lesbian and multicultural shows that are a lifeline for many in our community.CJAM is also a bastion of Canadian content in a sea of American media here in Windsor. There is a feeling here that we are forgotten in our corner of Ontario but I say to you, that attitude makes us vociferous in our national pride. We need CJAM, it is our public display of our identity and to deny this request is to relegate us to a staus as neither Canadian nor relevant. In these times of economic upheaval of which Windsor has borne a heavy load, to take away our lifeline to independant music and vital community activism would be a death knell to the spirit of this city. Please do the right thing and grant the application to relocate to 99.1 FM.
